Akron, NY (February 4, 2020) – Akron Police have arrested the driver of a tractor-trailer who allegedly struck three workers who were on strike outside of Strippit on Tuesday morning, February 4th. The incident happened just after 8:00 a.m. while several workers were on strike outside the facility located on Clarence Center Road.
According to authorities, the semi drove through the picket line, striking three workers. One victim was reported to have landed on the hood of the truck while at least one other was dragged underneath the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported three wounded parties to a nearby hospital.
The precise conditions of the victims have not been reported but all three are expected to make full recoveries. The truck driver has been charged with reckless endangerment.
